Coronavirus: Uhuru orders Mbagathi hospital be finished in 7 days

President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered that Mbagathi hospital coronavirus section be completed within seven days.

This was after the ministry of health said the sector would be finished in one months time.

In an Executive Order on Friday, Uhuru directed that the national isolation and treatment facility at Mbagathi be completed and ready to received patients within seven days from the date hereof.

He said that the identification and preparation of isolation and treatment facilities in Level V and referral hospitals across the country be concluded by March 15th.

"That the national emergency response committee on coronavirus is hereby established," he said.

But he dissolved the cabinets ad hoc committee on health and the inter-ministerial technical committee.

An Eldoret-based Kenyan athlete has been put in isolation at the Kenya Industrial Training Institute (KITI) in Nakuru, after he was seized by security officers while aboard an Eldoret-bound matatu following a trip from abroad.
